Just a thought...

Sanna Annukka

Sanna Annukka is a half Finnish, half English illustrator. Her love for nature and folklore shines through her work. There is something wonderfully dreamlike, yet graphic about her work. Having spent her childhood summers in the nightless Lapland wilderness, the forests, lakes and wildlife of the region have formed and infused her work.

In 2006 Sanna's work was spotted by the British group Keane which led to a remarkable collaboration on their second million selling album, Under the Iron Sea. She has also been commissioned by the likes of Vogue. Check out her wonderful, original work below.

'Sorry you're Leaving' Clintons

Sad day for Clintons and the British high street as yet another company is forced into administration. Aside from the tiny issue of £130 million in debt, maybe it's stores did not move with the times enough. "Retail analysts complained that the Clinton ranges were dated and "too saccharine"

"Clintons was once held up as a successful family business; it was started by a Londoner, Don Lewin, the son of an East End chimney sweep who left school at 15. He opened his first card shop in Epping in 1968, naming it after his son Clinton, and later successfully floated the business on the stock exchange. Its demise was acknowledged by fellow East End entrepreneur Lord Sugar, who tweeted: "Very sad news. Once a great company built by founder from nowhere." - Source: The Guardian online

Pick Me Up 2012, Somerset House

I attended the Pick Me Up Exhibition a couple of weeks ago now, but jetted off to sunnier parts of the world thereafter - hence the overdue post. I don't often mind the rain, preferring the extreme forms of weather rather than a rather undecided cloudyish whether. However, the contrast of one day being in the UAE, to coming back to this really dreary weather is really quite miserable! Luckily, looking back through these photos has really cheered me up again and brought a bit of sunshine back to my life. It has literally 'Picked me Up'! (Sorry..) Anyway It was an awesome exhibtion, with lots of live projects and screen printing going on. Check it out:
